About Warner

Get directions

Warner is 22 km north of the Brisbane CBD and is named after James Warner, one of three civilian surveyors sent to Moreton Bay settlement in 1839 to survey of the region in preparation for the district’s free settlement.
This marked the start of Queensland’s accurate mapping. Warner is gradually becoming more urban, although much of it still remains rural. Warner’s post-2000 developments include the Warner Lakes housing estate on 206 hectares of land previously used for potato farming, and a retail and commerce estate on the corner of Samsonvale Road and Old North Road housing Warner’s first financial institution, the Bank of Queensland.
