Earlier this week, Radiohead pulled a master vanishing act — they made themselves disappear from the internet, completely scrubbing their website and social media presence. Now they’re back, and they’ve brought new music with them.
Burn The Witch is the first taste of the group’s mysterious, as-yet-unnamed new studio album.
The clip, directed by Chris Hopewell, starts out as a cute claymation romp that soon turns sinister, as the residents of Model Village prepare to burn a police officer to death in a ritual sacrifice.
It’s all very, very Wicker Man, and — combined with Thom Yorke’s eerie lyrics — it tells a powerful story about the atrocities that are allowed to be committed and go unpunished by society’s complacency.
It’s good to have these guys back. Check out the clip above!
