A Queensland man will appear in court after allegedly firing at officers during a police pursuit, then lighting a bushfire.
A man who allegedly shot at police during a car chase and is accused of lighting a bushfire in central Queensland is to face numerous charges in court.
Detectives had been chasing the 29-year-old on Wednesday after he allegedly threatened a woman with a gun.
Police say he fired at officers during the pursuit on the Burnett Highway outside Rockhampton.
He then fled from his vehicle, and is accused of sparking a bushfire in the Bouldercombe area on Thursday.
Police arrested him on Thursday afternoon.
He has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, going armed as to cause fear, unlawful possession of a weapon, wilful damage, failure to stop a motor vehicle and driving without a licence, as well as two counts each of acts intended to resist arrest and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Friday.
