Delta Goodrem will join with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli as a special guest during his tour Down Under.

Delta Goodrem will join classical singer Andrea Bocelli during the Italian star’s tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The Voice Kids coach has been asked by Bocelli to join him on stage as a special guest for his concerts Down Under.

This won’t be the first time Goodrem has performed with the tenor, having sung with him in the US, Singapore and Canada in 2009 and 2010.

It will be the first time the pair have performed together Down Under.

“For years I have admired Delta’s work. Delta is such a gifted musician, she has a beautiful, rich and naturally agile voice, and is the perfect choice of artist to join me on stage to sing with me in her home country,” Bocelli said.

Goodrem said she was “deeply honoured” to be joining Bocelli for his shows.

“Andrea Bocelli is truly one of the most iconic performers of the modern world, his voice is sublime and it is a blessing to be re-joining the Maestro on stage soon for the concerts at home,” she said.

Bocelli will be accompanied by the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra and a 60 piece local choir including The Auckland Choral, The Brisbane Chorale, The Sydney Philharmonia Choir, the Ashton Smith Singers (Melbourne), the Elder Conservatorium Chorale (Adelaide) and the West Australian Symphony Chorale.

He will also be joined by Cuban soprano Maria Aleida for the operatic duets of the evening.

The concerts will each be a two-part performance, featuring a selection of classical opera arias and songs, as well as hits from Andrea Bocelli’s latest album Passione, a collection of love songs.
