An elderly man is recovering from leg injuries after rescuers spent hours digging him out of a underground grain silo in Queensland.
A elderly man has leg injuries after spending almost eight hours trapped in an underground grain silo on Queensland’s Darling Downs.
Emergency crews spent hours digging the man out of the grain after an earlier attempt to pull him out with a rope failed.
The man became trapped up to his chest about 2pm on Sunday, after part of the silo collapsed, causing him to fall.
He was flown from a farm southwest of Tara to the Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.
