A man has been charged after officers from a taskforce targeting bikie gangs seized drugs worth $70,000 at a Brisbane property.

Queensland police have seized drugs worth $70,000 in a raid targeting drug distribution networks run by the Finks and Mongols bikie gangs.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with three counts of drug possession after Monday’s raid at a property at Ashmore in Brisbane.

Officers from the anti-gang Task Force Maxima seized about 70 grams of the drug ice, MDMA tablets, steroids and drug-related equipment.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith says the links between outlaw bikie gangs and illegal drug distribution are evident.

“This action sees approximately 1000 hits removed from our streets and away from families,” he said.

“Every day we are arresting criminal gang participants and members of their networks for their involvement in illegal drug activities.”

The 29-year-old man will face the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
