Australian funspots have dominated reviewers’ lists of the top 10 entertainment parks in the South Pacific.
Australia is home to the Pacific’s best theme parks according to an annual survey of web-savvy travellers.
Queensland marine park Sea World was voted the best in the region by users of Trip Advisor, a popular travel website.
The global survey took in 2013’s user reviews to determine nine Australian funspots that dominated the top 10 list of best parks in the South Pacific region.
The Sea World water park first opened its doors in 1971, and is part of a cache of amusement parks on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
Neighbouring park Dreamworld took out the second spot with six Queensland destinations in total making the list.
The survey’s results also showed that the Discovery Cove park in Florida, USA and Europa Park in Germany to be superior holiday experiences to the more iconic Disneyland in Anaheim, California, which was ranked seventh in the world.
More than half of holiday-makers plan their vacations around theme park visits, according to the Trip Advisor results.
