A Queensland motorist has been charged with a string of offences after he allegedly drove off from police, crashed into a tree and spat on an officer.
A drunken motorist in Brisbane’s Bayside evaded police, crashed into a tree and then spat on an officer trying to arrest him, police say.
The drama started when police attempted to intercept a man, 26, for allegedly driving dangerously in Deception Bay about 9pm (AEST) Friday.
He failed to stop and officers only found him when he crashed his vehicle into a tree almost two hours later, police said.
It’s also alleged the man spat on an officer who tried to arrest him.
The man’s been charged with seven offences, including drink-driving, serious assault of police and two counts of obstructing police.
He’s due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on July 7.
