Queensland Premier Campbell Newman won’t settle with Clive Palmer over a defamation suit and will fight the case in the Supreme Court.
Queensland Premier Campbell Newman will defend defamation action taken against him by federal MP Clive Palmer.
Mr Newman’s lawyers lodged the notice of their intention to defend the case in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, ruling out an early settlement.
In April, the premier claimed the Palmer United Party leader tried to buy his government.
Mr Palmer launched legal action last month and is seeking $1.1 million in damages.
