Matt Bekier starts as casino operator Echo Entertainment’s new chief executive as the company reports a 5.7 per cent rise in revenue.
Echo Entertainment Group’s chief executive Matt Bekier has started his new job with the casino operator as it announces a rise in revenue.
Mr Bekier was appointed to the job after the resignation of his predecessor John Redmond who quit earlier this year to return with his family to the United States.
The company on Friday said Mr Bekier, previously Echo’s chief financial officer, had begun his new job after the necessary regulatory approvals were obtained.
Meanwhile, Echo on Friday reported a 5.7 per cent increase in revenue over the three months to March compared with the prior corresponding period.
There was revenue growth at the company’s casinos in both Sydney and Queensland.
“Echo continues to expect to deliver operating expenditure below $880 million for FY14, which is in line with the guidance provided at the 1H14 results,” the company said in a statement.
It said the 2014 financial year results were subject to several factors including macro-economic conditions and win rate volatility in the premium gaming rooms.
Echo operates Sydney’s The Star casino and three Queensland casinos.
At 1025 AEST, Echo’s shares were up 23 cents at $2.64.
