The Brisbane Roar expect star striker Besart Berisha to hit the ground running in his A-League return against Central Coast on Saturday night

Brisbane Roar midfielder Liam Miller has tipped Besart Berisha to be at his ruthless best spearheading the club’s full-strength A-League outfit on Saturday night.

Berisha returns from suspension against the under-pressure Mariners, who need to win the final-round A-League clash at Suncorp Stadium to maintain their hopes of a top-two finish.

It’s a difficult task made tougher for Central Coast who have been sunk by late goals by the Roar in both meetings this year.

Brisbane are also unbeaten in their past six matches, conceding just five goals, and have Ivan Franjic, Jade North and James Donachie all back fit from injuries.

While Berisha cut a heart-broken figure when he was controversially sent off in the 2-1 win over Melbourne Heart, Miller said the Melbourne Victory-bound striker was determined to atone in his comeback.

“He is as focussed as ever so it’s great to have him back and I’m sure he will be banging in the goals,” the Irishman said. “He’s trained the house down.

“He’s an absolutely quality player Bes, his record speaks for itself, so we welcome him back with both arms.

Roar have conceded just 10 goals in their last 12 A-League matches and they have not conceded more than one goal in any game during this run.

Although they wrapped up the premiership three weeks ago, Brisbane want to flex their muscles ahead of their April 27 semi-final.

“We want to have the momentum going into the play-offs,” Miller said

“We want to finish as well as we can.”
