Nine-time Grammy winner John Legend will head to Australia next month and perform headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne as well as support Alicia Keys.
Nine-time Grammy winner John Legend’s new album is a declaration that soul remains a vital part of popular music.
Legend will tour with R&B artist Alicia Keys in Australia in December and also perform headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
His fourth studio album, Love In The Future, includes singles Who Do We Think We Are and Made To Love.
“We wanted the album to feel very spacious so we didn’t want to over produce anything,” Legend says.
“We wanted it to be very soulful but also very modern at the same time.”
Legend has sold more than seven million albums since his debut record Get Lifted in 2004.
He views Love In The Future as an affirmation that he remains a soul artist in an era when not a lot of soul music is being made.
“My thought was to make an album to reaffirm that soul music can still be vital and fresh and an important part of the popular music landscape,” Legend says.
He has won nine Grammy awards over the past seven years, including Best R&B album in 2006 for Get Lifted and another in 2011 for Wake Up!
Legend has recently collaborated with dubstep violinist and YouTube sensation Lindsey Stirling for strings version of All Of Me.
He also curated the soundtrack for British-American historical drama 12 Years A Slave, starring Brad Pitt.
