Zambrero launched their delicious 2017 menu with an eight-course degustation dinner at their Buranda restaurant.

The tasting showed off the healthiest and most flavoursome items on the Zambrero menu, including pork and chicken dos capas (essentially a hard-shell taco wrapped inside a soft-shell taco, so you get the crunch of a hard-shell taco without the tragedy of it completely disintegrating in your hands) and the new Power Burrito.

The gluten-free Power Burrito comes packed with superfoods — including black rice, amaranth and spulina, wrapped in a black rice tortilla — and provides 60 per cent of an average adult’s required daily protein intake. Luckily, it also tastes good.

The Power Burrito is part of the restaurant chain’s Plate 4 Plate promotion — for every burrito or bowl you purchase, Zambrero teams with Stop Hunger Now, an international hunger relief agency, to donate a meal to someone in need.

Since the first Zambrero restaurant opened in Canberra in 2005, the chain — which has restaurants in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Ireland — has donated over 12,000,000 meals.
