Brisbane isn’t exactly short on rooftop bars, but we can always do with another one.

A development application has been lodged for a new rooftop bar located above 200 Adelaide Street, on the corner of Adelaide and Edward Streets.

Brisbane Development reports that the proposed 323 square metre rooftop bar will turn the rooftop into an “architecturally designed sub-tropical rooftop destination” that will be visible from various points along Edward Street.

The seventh floor rooftop bar will utilise hanging gardens, perimeter planters and vine trellises to evoke a subtropical feel.

The development application has been lodged by Charter Hall; the proposed bar has been designed by Hames Sharley Architects, with landscape design by Lat27.

The bar doesn’t have a name, or a launch date, because the development application has yet to be approved, but given Brisbane’s love affair with rooftop bars, you’ve got to think a new one in such a prime spot has a good chance of getting up — especially because the roof isn’t doing much at the moment.
