Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe will come exclusively to Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA).

This will be the first major Marvel exhibition to be staged in Australia, and the largest ever presented in an art museum.

With original artwork, film props, costumes and more, the exhibition will take over the entire ground floor of GOMA and bring the Marvel Cinematic Universe to life in Brisbane.

The exhibition will follow Marvel heroes like Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Black Panther on their journeys from the comic book page to the cinema screen.

Past and present Marvel Studios blockbusters, including Thor: Ragnarok, which is currently in production in Queensland, will be featured in the exhibition.

A significant focus will be placed on Marvel comic book artists, and the development teams who translate the drawn narrative to the screen through production design and storyboarding, costume and prop design, special effects and post-production.

Naturally, the experience will extend into GOMA’s Australian Cinematheque, which will run a retrospective of the official Marvel Cinematic Universe of films.

Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe will run from 27 May to 3 September 2017 at GOMA. Tickets are on sale now at
