More sex equals more money — at least that’s what a new study will have us believe.

It appears as though your bedroom behaviour can actually increase your bank balance (without resorting to the world’s oldest profession).

This is good news and should be celebrated — by getting naked. After all, it’s for a practical and very real reason: Your financial standing.

If your love life is lacking and you need some motivation to get your motors revving again, listen up. As part of an extensive study, Dr Nick Drydakis and his team of researchers from Anglia Ruskin University have studied the responses from 7500 people to determine the effect of sexual activity on wages.

The results? There is an undeniable correlation between these two areas. “The vast medical and psychological literature concludes that sexual activity is associated with good health and improved physical and mental capacities, psychological wellbeing and dietary habits,” Dr Nick explains.

The study found that those who do the dirty often — defined as ‘engaging in sexual activity two to three times a week on average’ — will earn an additional 4.5 per cent more, on average, than those who don’t. Dr Nick believes this proves there is definitely a link between the bedroom and the boardroom.

“Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory claims that the happier and more fulfilled individuals are in their lives, the more productive and successful they will be in their work, translating to higher wages,” Dr Nick says. “The theory concludes that people need to love and be loved, sexually and non-sexually, by others.”

So don’t just do it for the money — do it for love, and you’ll reap the benefits in all areas of your life.
