Cyclone Marcia cut a devastating swathe through Central Queensland on the weekend.
UPDATE 23/02/15: 100 families in Rockhampton and Yeppoon have been left without homes, according to Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
“We have 100 families whose homes have been severely impacted and will not be able to go back to those homes,” Ms Palaszczuk told reporters in Brisbane on Sunday.
Ms Palaszczuk said NDRAA state/federal disaster relief funding arrangements have been activated after the Queensland Government’s discussions with Commonwealth authorities, and those 100 families will be the priority of the relief effort.
As part of the NDRAA funding, families affected by Cyclone Marcia can ask for $900 in immediate funding and up to $4,200 for repair work to help connect their electricity, gas or water.
