Brisbane legends Regurgitator will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking Unit LP with a one-off show at the EB Expo on the Gold Coast.

The ‘Gurge will be joined by Art Vs Science and 7Bit Hero to celebrate 20 years since the release of Unit, which went triple platinum and won five ARIA awards, including Album of the Year.

Many of the group’s most popular songs, including ‘Polyester Girl’, ‘! (The Song Formerly Known As)’, ‘Black Bugs’, ‘Everyday Formula’ and ‘I Like Your Old Stuff Better Than Your New Stuff’, come from the album.

The show will open EB Expo Gold Coast 2017, which marks the Expo’s first time back in Queensland since it was launched by video games retailer EB Games on the Gold Coast in 2011. It has since become Australia’s premier gaming event.

It’s appropriate that the group will celebrate Unit‘s anniversary at EB Expo, considering the focus on video games and technology in the album’s lyrics and music videos.

The show will feature state-of-the-art 3D visual effects and an amazing sensory experience.

Fellow ARIA winners Art vs Science, who have spent the past two years working on new music, will support, along with hyper bit-pop band 7Bit Hero, who also develop video games for mobile platforms.

During 7Bit Hero’s set, your smartphone will be your joystick, allowing you to control a character in a multi-player game projected behind the band.

“We could not be more excited to have the opportunity to bring Unit20 to the Gold Coast for an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime show,” says EB Expo event manager Trent Weekes.

“This is truly a historic musical event that will kick off a huge weekend of entertainment at the EB Expo. There will be no better place to be the second weekend of October.”

The Unit20 concert will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on Friday 6 October. Tickets will be available via and at all EB Games and ZiNG Pop CUlture stores from Friday 19 May.
