Sierra Boggess, the star of The Phantom of the Opera, Disney’s The Little Mermaid and School of Rock, is coming to Brisbane for one night only.
Boggess first came to the attention of musical theatre fans when she was cast as Christine Daaé in the Las Vegas production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, and was subsequently praised as “the best Christine certainly!” by Lloyd Webber himself.
She made her Broadway debut by originating the role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, wowing audiences with her magnificent voice, acclaimed acting and captivating personality, and becoming a celebrated Broadway Disney Princess.
She returned to the role of Christine Daaé in Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, and in 25th anniversary productions of The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and at the Royal Albert Hall.
Most recently, she starred as Principal Mullins in Lloyd Webber’s adaptation of the Jack Black favourite School of Rock on Broadway.
A bona fide star of the stage, Boggess has been nominated for Drama Desk, Drama League and Laurence Olivier Awards, and won Broadway.com Audience Awards for her roles in The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera and It Shoulda Been You.
Performing for the first time in Australia, Boggess will bring her solo show to the QPAC Concert Hall on Thursday 8 June as part of the Queensland Cabaret Festival. For more info and tickets, visit qpac.com.au.
