Russell Howard, one of the UK’s most successful live comedians, has added another Brisbane date to his Round the World tour.
Way back in the halcyon days of November 2015, when Prince, David Bowie and literally dozens of other celebrities were still alive and Donald Trump hadn’t yet secured the Republican presidential nomination, Russell Howard announced an Australian tour for 2017.
It seemed so ambitious then, but it’s not too far away now — in fact, Howard will touch down in Australia in just eight short months.
The massive Round the World tour will see the relentlessly optimistic comedian play 10 consecutive nights at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, as well as major arenas around the UK and 29 international cities including New York, Wellington, Amsterdam, Oslo, Washington DC, Chicago, Dublin, Helsinki, Vancouver, Reykjavik, San Francisco and, of course, Brisbane.
Howard’s status as one of the most successful stand-up comedians of his generation was solidified with his previous tour, Wonderbox, that saw him entertain 285,000 fans at 40 shows across the UK and Ireland, as well as sold-out runs in the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Already announced to play QPAC Concert Hall on Monday 10 July, Howard has now added a second show at the same venue on Tuesday 11 July. Tickets to the new show will go on sale at 10am this Friday 18 November at livenation.com.au; My Live Nation pre-sale tickets will go on sale from 10am Wednesday 16 November to 5pm Thursday 17 November.
