Take a pedal-powered journey from the past to present day Newstead, New Farm and Teneriffe.
One of the highlights of the Hot Modernism program, the Retro rides tours are designed to appeal to locals eager to explore the city from a new perspective, and for tourists looking to get the inside scoop on three of Brisbane’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
Riders will learn about the previous lives of the Woolstore, the Cannery and other neighbourhood buildings, shop for retro outfits and accessories in a private vintage pop-up van (The Best Little Vintage Van in Vegas), enjoy tastings and tours at Green Beacon, Newstead Brewing Co and Blue Sky Coffee, and even get a sneak peek at a unique circus experience.
Intrigued? The retro rides will take place on Saturday 6 September and Saturday 13 September, starting at Gasworks CityCycle Station No. 64 (Skyring Tce/Cunningham St, Newstead) at 9am and ending at New Farm Park CityCycle Station No. 72 (Powerhouse) at noon. Tickets (which are strictly 18+) cost $40 each and are available up until one hour before each ride. Tickets include beer tastings and pub grub.
Riders must BYO their own bike and helmet or hire a CityCycle. For more info on how to book your ticket, visit our event guide.
