A regular foodie favourite, with Brisbane institutions like Bunker Coffee, Banneton Bakery and Salt Meat Cheese, the Milton Markets are stepping it up with an array of winter-themed goodies like chilli chocolate doughnuts, truffle pizza, cooking demonstrations, and of course, fresh, in-season produce!

The second of four seasonal events, Seasonal Flavours is a unique foodie event created to showcase the unique and exciting items on offer at the farmers markets.

Market coordinator Mark Power says the events are a great way to showcase the exceptional quality of local providers.

“Farmers markets are fantastically innovative. You have so many skilled chefs, bakers, farmers, growers, artists and more, making new products, finding the best ingredients — right at your doorstep, every weekend. You don’t get that at the grocery store.”

The day will also feature two cooking demonstrations by Brisbane chef Tony Ching. He’ll be cooking up a quick and hearty winter mushroom risotto with fresh market produce! The demos will take place at 8:30am and 10:30am and are presented on behalf of the Wesley LifeShape clinic!

The event will also feature themed decorations, fantastic live entertainment, a jumping castle and more. Entry is free and $2 secure parking is available next door.

“The first event was a huge success for visitors and vendors. This Winter Edition is going to be even bigger and better,” Power says.

“It’s great because markets are always changing and they are a great way to bring the community together and showcase new ideas.”
