70s Disco Mania is about to hit Australia as two of the biggest chart toppers of the 70s announce an Australian tour. Abstract Entertainment announce soul sensation HOT CHOCOLATE return to Australia with fellow UK soul hit makers THE REAL THING, for a run of club dates taking them across Australia.
HOT CHOCOLATE were one of the most successful bands of the 70s. They enjoyed multiple hit singles across the 70s and into the 80s including You Sexy Thing, Every 1’s A Winner, So You Win Again and more. Their music has been used in numerous films including The Full Monty, Boogie Nights, Legally Blonde and Bicentennial Man. They had numerous #1 hits in the US and across the world. The current lineup consists of founding members Patrick Olive, Harvey Hinsley and Tony Connor. They are joined by Kennie Simon on lead vocals, Andy Smith and Kevin McCarthy.
THE REAL THING are a British soul/rock group of the 70s. Hailing from Liverpool and with strong ties to the Ghanaian roots, they started their musical career covering some of their favourite hits from US artists including The Temptations and Barry White. Recording with David Essex, the hits began to come along, including their biggest international hit single was You To Me Are Everything – released in 1976 and a much loved song that is still heard on radio stations across the world. This track went to #1 in the UK and charted across multiple countries around the world.
