The hugely-popular Xtend Barre studios of former Moulin Rouge dancer Shay Stafford will be awash with rosey tones this week, as part of the fourth annual Plie for Pink in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
All of the 75-minute sweat-sessions are set to be a sell-out, with Stones Corner (3/421 Logan Road, Greenslopes) hosting their events on Friday October 14 at 5:45pm and Saturday October 15 at 9:30am, with the newly-opened Newstead studio (76 Commercial Road, Newstead) on Sunday 16 October at 8:30am.
A professional dancer with more than two decades’ experience, owner Shay Stafford is well-placed to be leading the Plie for Pink classes, which will be amongst the first in the world.
Participants will be asked to make a donation of $35 to join the class before donning signature pink grip socks and dancing their way through the session, with a celebratory glass of bubbles and sweet treats at its conclusion.
“I am so thrilled to be hosting two very special classes as part of the global Plie for Pink initiative across my Xtend Barre Stones Corner and Newstead studios,” says Shay Stafford.
“Raising funds and awareness for breast cancer is so very important, especially with the knowledge that several of the women who regularly attend classes with us have done so during their own treatment and recovery.”
