Samuel Beckett’s Absurdist masterpiece, Endgame, is shake & stir theatre co’s third production in their 10 year anniversary season and will be presented at the Cremorne Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) from 9 August 2016.
It follows sell-out productions of Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine and Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights.
Endgame paints a tragically comic portrait of lives lived, loathed and lost. Hamm, Clov, Nagg and Nell are four lost souls contemplating the inevitable arrival of their end. Isolated in a non-descript room, each reflects upon their life’s journey while grappling to find meaning in an otherwise meaningless world. Amidst this darkness comes unexpected moments of sheer joy, serving as a poignant reminder of Beckett’s accurate observations of both the resilience and mortality of the human condition.
Come along for a memorable performance.
