Cheeky, fun, a little bit naughty and a really good laugh!
Ladies Night is the story of four unemployed guys, motivated by ‘The Chippendales’ to form a male stripping act, in order to make some fast cash. They pitch the notion to a local club owner and take lessons from a slightly shop-worn, dance instructor with a heart-of-gold in what women really want from a male stripper (and how to deliver it).
Written in 1987 by Anthony McCarten and Stephen Sinclair, a decade before the film The Full Monty, Ladies Night is New Zealand’s most commercially successful play of all time! After eight sell-out tours of the U.K., France’s premiere theatre award for comedy (The Molière Prize, in 2001) and being translated into twelve languages, this fun play is on its way back to Redland Performing Arts Centre for one night only!
Have a giggle as you see these ‘average blokes’ attempt a strip to some familiar tunes including Hot Stuff, Bad To the Bone, Smooth Operator and Wild Thing to name just a few…
