Contemporary indigenous Australian art despite significant change and diversity, retains an underlying unity of inspiration, that of the land the peoples’ relationships with it. It is simultaneously connected to the past and engaged with the present.
Wendy Rix from the Yuwaalaraay people captures this through her exhibition ‘Connecting’ which features new work and styles by this popular contemporary indigenous artist.
Wendy Rix’s ‘Connecting’ Exhibition will be on show from the 2nd to the 19th of December at Aspire Gallery, Paddington. Julie Baker, The Snake Sheila, will be opening Wendy’s exhibition on the 12th of December 4:30 to 6:30pm.
