Pacific Tides Festival is a day and night festival – the peak of a multi-faceted/multi-age cultural initiative, a ‘coming together’ in Cleveland of saltwater peoples and regional ‘neighbours’ from many island (and mainland) communities.
The Pacific Tides Festival is a celebration of Pacific culture – from Australian Indigenous, Australian South Sea Islander, Pacific Islander, New Zealand and mainstream communities – united by cultural and/or geographical background and the shared experiences of daily life in the same environment joined by the saltwater of the Pacific Ocean.
There will be dancing and singing, traditional and contemporary Indigenous and Pacific Islander entertainment, family activities, eco fair, digital media space and visual art throughout Redland Performing Arts Centre.
Audiences from near and far will also be able to enjoy performances on the outdoor Island stage, Islander food and a craft market.
The Saturday night ticketed event, Pacific Sound, features international, national and local profile musicians from the Indigenous and Pacific Islander musical community.
Headlining the concert will be one of the hottest young Pacific artists, SWISS and The Voice semi-finalist Fatai.
The line-up also features high-powered and energetic nine-piece tour-de-force Dubmarine, TSI band CKNU, fusion artist Mark Lowndes and Reggae/R’N’B/soul artist JSQZE.
This will be a phenomenal line up international, national and local profile musicians from the Indigenous and Pacific Islander musical community not to be missed!
