An Open Day will be held at St Joseph’s Nudgee College on Saturday 30 May, allowing prospective families an opportunity to explore the state-of-the-art facilities, experience the exciting programs and meet several of the dedicated teaching staff.

Current students will be present at the event to provide tours to interested parties, as well as offer first-hand knowledge about what it is like to attend Nudgee College.

Attendees will be provided with a program so they can pick and choose which areas they would like to see and experience throughout the day.

A few of the features of the event include art displays, live science experiments, performances by College bands, Chess games, and so much more.

For families interested in boarding the brand new Bathersby Boarding Village will be open for inspection.

Another new building that will be open is the DJ Hanly Learning Centre, which features the College library, IT and AV services, IT Labs, Year 7 learning spaces, a giant chess board, the tuckshop and a large covered outdoor space.

To demonstrate an aspect of the College’s Social Justice program students will be rolling swags for Street Swags, an organisation which provides comfortable and practical bedding for homeless people.

Formal addresses by both the Principal and the College Captain will occur throughout the day.

Coinciding with the event will be the Nudgee College versus The Southport School Football home game on Ross Oval. This will give the Open Day attendees the chance to catch the Nudgee College spirit and experience its sporting life.

There will also be a free barbecue lunch as well as tea, coffee and juice available.
