Traditionally, set up as a cultural day, this year’s Milton Community Festival will be including the Artisan Markets to make it an weekend-long event.
The Lord Mayor will officially open the Festival weekend along with councillor Peter Matic at 10.30 am on Saturday.
Kicking off the day there will be Polish Folkloric Dancing.
Other entertainment for the day includes a busker, a tarot card reader, a children’s face painter and various artisan demonstrations.
Saturday consists of an Artisan Market for 100% handcrafted arts and crafts.
There will between 20-25 stalls approximately, including jewellery, ceramics, felting, encodying, quitting amd other textile art, paintings, clothing, leather handbags and accessories, wood turned items etc.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate making artistic items.
Sunday’s festivities commence at 11am, concluding at 4pm.
The cultural family fun day will include various dancing groups; a busker, face painter and magician and the first ever PIEROGI (type of dumpling) Eating Competition.
An extensive range of traditional Polish Sausages, cakes/sweets and coffee and alcoholic beverages.
This an annual free event is sponsored by the Brisbane City Council and the Polonia Polish Club.
The Polish Club licensed Restaurant will be open on both days.
