This May sees Australia’s biggest wine celebration – Aussie Wine Month – come to life across the country through an intoxicating mix of food, wine, music and epicurean adventures in Australia’s top restaurants and wine regions. Now in its third year, Aussie Wine Month focuses Australians’ attention on the diversity, quality and value of wines from our own backyard.

From Sydney to Subiaco via Strathalbyn, there are wine-inspired events to suit every taste being held across the country. Whether it be meeting the characters behind our great wines; visiting cellar doors nestled among the vines; taking part in a wine and food matching course, or indulging in a long lunch, Aussies are invited to embrace provenance and unlock the locavore within this May.

Wine Australia Regional Director, Aaron Brasher, said Aussie Wine Month is the perfect opportunity for Australians to get out and enjoy Australia’s best wines from world-renowned wineries, winemakers and regions:

“We have incredible wines here in Australia and what better way to celebrate than with a month long festival. This May, it will be all about our local top drops – there will be food and wine festivals, behind the scenes tours, tastings, degustation dinners and much more across Australia.

“We encourage Australians to open their palates, hearts and minds to our top drops and to exploring some or our picturesque wine regions in May.”
