New works by esteemed contemporary artists Auguste Blackman, Hugh Ford, Leisa Russell and Ray Paul will be showcased at the exhibition’s opening night on March 1.
“The figurative and expressionist style of Auguste Blackman is coming to the Gold Coast for his debut solo exhibition ‘Floral Tribute’. This particular body of work by Auguste seeks to stimulate feelings of joy within the viewer. Auguste draws the audience away from a serious reality and into a world of delight with “humorous undertones.”
Nostalgic and whimsical, are two words that best describe Hugh Ford’s paintings. After successful sell out solo shows in Sydney and group shows in Hong Kong and Singapore, Ford is showcasing his first solo exhibition ‘Nostalgic for Now’ on the Gold Coast.
Nature is a strong theme that runs throughout Leisa Russell’s work; Winner of the 28th Gold Coast International Ceramic Art Award (2012) Russell’s next solo show will be no different.
American artist Ray Paul’s latest exhibition ‘Juicy Fruit’ is assured to showcase some of the artist’s best abstract paintings to date. In 2011 Ray Paul was diagnosed with cancer, a high grade myxofibrosarcoma. This solo exhibition marks his journey and struggle to heal his cancer.”
