Two of Queensland’s most loved State of Origin greats, Kevin and Kerrod Walters, will be special guests at the Heart Foundation’s Hearts of Gold lunch.
Twin brothers Kevin and Kerrod will be sharing some special memories of their time on (and off) the footy field, representing the Brisbane Broncos, the Queensland Maroons and the Australian Kangaroos.
Both Kevin and Kerrod have been inducted into the Broncos’ official Hall of Fame, and Kevin is the current coach of the Queensland Maroons.
Kerrod will also talk about the heart attack he suffered in 2013, and how his life has changed since then.
The Hearts of Gold lunch, a signature event of Heart Week 2017, will be hosted by Lexy Hamilton-Smith (ABC TV), and will also feature a presentation by leading clinical researcher Professor Michael Stowasser.
There’ll also be live entertainment from Brisbane’s Red Tie Band, and amazing prizes to be won in a raffle.
Funds raised from the lunch will go towards developing community programs and vital research to help prevent and treat cardiovascular disease. The Heart Foundation is currently supporting 18 researchers in Queensland and in 2017 has invested $17 million into 90 research projects across the country.
So come along, bring some friends and enjoy a good footy yarn while tucking into a three-course meal and fine wines for a great cause, the Heart Foundation!
The Hearts of Gold lunch will be held at The Marquee, Victoria Park, on Friday 5 May. Tickets are $150 each, or $1400 for a table of 10. For more info and to book your spot, visit heartfoundation.org.au.
