French cosmetics giant Sephora has announced that its first Queensland store will open next month.
The store will open at the Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach this July.
There are more than 2,500 Sephora stores worldwide, but this will be just the fourth to open in Australia, joining stores in Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall and Macquarie Centre, as well as Melbourne Central.
Libby Amelia, country manager of Sephora Australia, says the company is keen to offer Queensland beauty enthusiasts access to the world of Sephora.
“It is a very exciting time for Sephora Australia with the announcement of our new store at Pacific Fair,” she says.
“After such great success with our first three stores, there has been much anticipation and demand for Sephora from beauty lovers across the nation.”
Pacific Fair is currently undergoing a $670 million redevelopment that began in January 2014.
“With the redevelopment of Pacific Fair, the Gold Coast was the perfect fit for Sephora’s next store location,” Ms Amelia says.
“There has been high demand by Gold Coast consumers for some time and we are so excited to finally share this journey with them as the global beauty authority.
“The store experience at Sephora is unrivalled. We operate a self-service model, where the customer is encouraged to play, try and explore on their own! Alternatively, beauty advisers are always available for customers seeking information, service and expertise.”
To mark the occasion, Sephora will be adding two exclusive brands — Oaui, by celebrity hair stylist Jen Atkins, and perfume brand Commodity Goods — to their range.
Sephora already stocks more than 30 exclusive beauty brands, including Marc Jacobs Beauty, Tarte, Kat Von D, Cover FX, Nudestix, Beauty Blender, Ole Henriksen, Formula X, and its own private label, Sephora Collection.
Pacific Fair general manager Brett Clarke says the beauty brand will be a popular addition to the centre.
“We know that the introduction of a global beauty megabrand such as Sephora will generate much excitement amongst our shoppers, and we are thrilled they have chosen Pacific Fair as the location for their first store in Queensland,” he says.”
