The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, but this February, the festival was cancelled.
Now, the festival has teamed with Network Ten to announce the release of a special documentary, Decade of Design.
“We were devastated earlier this year to have to cancel the festival,” says festival director Lindsay Bennett.
“This documentary will give fashion lovers a chance to relive and celebrate this wonderful event, and see how it grew over the years.”
The documentary will feature exclusive backstage footage, insight from designers and the management team, and an in-depth look into the highlights and challenges of creating the Fashion Festival.
“It was an honour to be invited backstage to showcase and celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Fashion Festival and to highlight the talented Queensland designers,” says Cherrie Bottger, head of Children’s Programming and Documentaries at Network Ten.
Viewers can expect a full backstage pass to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane, with behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with leading designers like Easton Pearson, Paul Hunt, Sacha Drake, Julie Tengdahl and Pia du Pradal, and spectacular runway footage from the last decade.
Decade of Design will air on Network Ten on Saturday 18 June at 12 noon, and will also be available online on Ten Play.
