Indooroopilly Shopping Centre will present an exhibition exploring the work of Aussie fashion designer Collette Dinnigan, courtesy of the Museum of Applied Arts and Science.

The Collette Dinnigan: UNLACED exhibition, currently housed at the Powerhouse Museum Sydney and curated in conjunction with the designer herself, will be showcased at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre from 30 March through to 10 April.

Collette Dinnigan was the first Australian to be invited to show at the official Haute Couture week in Paris. Over the course of a 25-year career in fashion, her designs have been stocked by leading international retailers like Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus and Harvey Nichols and worn by international celebs Taylor Swift, Dita Von Teese and Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, just to name a few.

The pop-up exhibition will include a selection of the designer’s exquisite, embellished dresses, virtual catwalk projections of models showcasing 25 years of Collette Dinnigan’s designs, and an interactive space where kids can create their own to-die-for designer looks.

Indooroopilly Shopping Centre general manager Leah Mienert says the Centre is thrilled to bring the exhibition to Queensland.

“Collette Dinnigan is one of the most accomplished designers Australia has ever produced and we are so excited to be able to bring this inspiring exhibition to Brisbane to showcase it to our customers,” she says.

“I believe they will be surprised and delighted by the calibre of the display.”

Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) acting director Dolla Merrillees says the pop-up exhibition is a first for the museum.

Collette Dinnigan: UNLACED is an incredibly successful exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum. The pop-up at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre provides a wonderful opportunity to bring the exhibition to Brisbane and give customers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of Collette Dinnigan’s rich history in fashion,” she says.

You’ll find Collette Dinnigan: UNLACED in the fashion mall on Level 2 of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre from 30 March until 10 April. The interactive children’s space will be open from 10am to 2pm daily.
