Fashionistas, get ready to celebrate National Recycling Week in style at the Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show in King George Square today!
Presented by Brisbane City Council and VISY, the paper-themed markets and fashion show is all about recognising Brisbane’s recycling efforts and inspiring more recycling for a cleaner and greener city.
From 4pm to 9pm, enjoy incredible paper couture created by a collection of Brisbane’s best fashion designers, food from your favourite food trucks, artisan markets and free craft activities.
This year, a range of Brisbane designers have created collections for the event using recycled materials like paper, cardboard, magazines and even napkins.
Darb Bridal Couture, George Wu, Alice Nightingale, Maiocchi, I Make You Wear It, Roux May, NICO Underwear, House Of Cards and VIHN will all be showing off their recycled creations, but we’re most excited to see what The Australian Institute of Creative Design students have in store — because they’re using back issues of Bmag to create their masterpiece!
Check out the video of the students putting it all together!
There will also be live entertainment at the event, including performances by The QUBE Effect bands, Golden Age of Ballooning, Holly Terrens and Quintessential Doll.
Recreate Twilight Market and Paper Fashion Show will be held at King George Square tonight (Friday 13 November) from 4pm to 9pm. For more information click here.
