To celebrate the opening of Mecca Maxima at Westfield Chermside, celebrity makeup artist Max May — of Max Made fame — will be hosting two exclusive (and free!) 30 minute workshops for local shoppers on Saturday 11 October.

Head to Westfield Chermside’s Style Lounge on Saturday 11 October for a series of workshops that will allow you to have a sneak peek at the popular Mecca range and learn a few tips and tricks on how to use it expertly.

Not sure who Max May is? The founder and editor of, he’s one of Australia’s leading hair and makeup artists – working alongside notable clients such as Rose Byrne, Teresa Palmer, Abbie Cornish, Sarah Murdoch and Lara Bingle — whilst also working on the covers and pages of fashion bibles such as  HARPER’S BAZAAR Australia, Singapore and China, OYSTER, RUSSH Magazine, ELLE Japan, GRAZIA Australia, UK and Italy, and TEN Magazine. He originally started off as a hair stylist, but soon moved in to working with makeup due to a long-term love affair with drawing and painting.

Taking cues from the techniques used in visual arts, along with the combination of colour palettes, Max soon moved up the ranks in the beauty and fashion industry as a talent to watch.

To demonstrate the various make up looks in real life, Brisbane local and high profile model Michaela Wain will be the model for Max on the day, helping him showcase all of the tips and tricks that go into creating his perfectly flawless looks.
