The 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is set to showcase some of Australia’s most coveted labels such as Akira, Ginger & Smart, Lee Mathews and Easton Pearson as well as some of Queensland’s favourite local designers including George Wu, Sacha Drake, Tengdahl, Urbbana, Darb Couture and many more. These established names will share the runway with a selection of the state’s extremely talented and gifted new designers in the Emerging Designers Group Show.

And in an exciting start to the Fashion Festival, Myer will again open the official runway program with a cutting-edge show, featuring the latest collections from its stable of renowned Australian designers in the Myer Spring Summer 15 Fashion Show. The 2014 program also includes the ever-popular and indulgent QueensPlaza High Tea and Fashion Trends, hosted onsite in the Ithaca Auditorium, City Hall, as well as the captivating off-runway events hosted at the State Library of Queensland and Artisan Gallery.

Following the success of last year’s event the 2014 Fashion Festival will return to the iconic Brisbane City Hall location and the King George Square forecourt will again become style-central as it hosts the pop-up Fashion Bar. As an exciting new addition to the program this year, Brisbane Marketing will be staging a free full-length fashion show, the Fashion In The City parade. This exclusive event will be staged on the Festival’s main runway at Brisbane City Hall on Thursday, 28 August at 12.30pm.

Showcasing an array of Brisbane City’s hottest designers and retailers, the parade invites you to feast your eyes on the best Spring/Summer trends from retailers including Myer Centre, Wintergarden, QueensPlaza, Brisbane Arcade, MacArthur Central, Albert and Elizabeth Street.

Tickets to Queensland’s sought-after, standalone runway Festival go on sale next Monday, 2 June, starting at $39. The Fashion Festival is also proud to donate $1 from every ticket sold this year to Lifeline, lifeline is a national charity which provides 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services to all Australians.
