Anyone who missed the royal couple on the weekend might find the next best thing a bit of fun – Peter Alexander’s PJ-clad look-alikes.
He’s reinterpreted Disney, the Wizard of Oz and Greece, brought us all the cuteness of mascot Penny and taken pyjamas into the fashion realm, but Peter Alexander‘s latest range takes on the realm of the royals.
Released for Mother’s Day, Alexander has created a range inspired by the royal family and shot, at home with Wills and Kate-style, in some very convincing domestic setups with even more convincing look-alikes.
There’s the Queen giving the corgis a scratch on the loungeroom floor, William on the hoover with baby George, the couple lounging in bed with their son, complete with crowns, and Kate with sister Pippa, grandmother and Camilla on the couch pouring over the gossip mags.
“I was thinking if any famous mother could be the face of Peter Alexander Mother’s Day collection who would we want? And my answer was Kate Middleton!! So I created a theme good enough for any princess to love,” says Alexander.
UK photographer Alison Jackson photographed the collection, and is well renowned for her spoof celebrity photography featuring UK look-alikes. Simon Cowell, Adele, George Clooney, Katy Perry and Prime Minister David Cameron have been the target of the photographer’s look-alike fantasy scenarios.
Peter Alexander and his Kate and William look-alikes visited Myer Brisbane City on Tuesday 22 April to launch the new collection in store.
