Sirens Swimwear have relocated their head office from Sydney to Brisbane, just in time for the launch of their 2013 collection.

Their name evokes an image of old-school Hollywood glamour and lucky for us that’s just the style Sirens Swimwear is dishing up this summer.

After starting out as a small home gown business in Sydney in 2009, Sirens Swimwear was purchased this year by Brisbane woman Bettina McLeod who has moved the business to Queensland with the goal of expanding the range. The designs featured in the 2013 collection channel ’50s glamour personified by fashion icons such as Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot and Rita Hayworth. In McLeod’s words it was a time when “women were curvy, elegant and feminine”.

“However, at Sirens Swimwear, as much as we appreciate vintage style, we also know that our sirens want to look great in 2013, not the 1950’s. With this in mind we have made a few modern concessions to ensure they have a glamorous swimming costume that looks and makes them feel amazing,” says McLeod. ” Some of the technologies we have implemented to ensure this is the use of high quality mesh lining. Think magic knickers on steroids. The mesh lining changes your body shape by lifting, flattening, shaping and it does this with a smooth finish and minimal seam. We then place an overlay of fabric over the top so no one needs to know that there is lining underneath. The lining is not restricting; it’s comfortable and gives you that added support.”

The Sirens Swimwear new range of bikinis and one piece costumes come in playful polka-dot patterns, wild leopard prints, sassy stripes and classic black and are available in sizes 8 to 18.
