Start stocking up on watermelons. Virginia’s Mountain Lake Lodge, featured in Dirty Dancing, hosts three weekends a year inspired by the beloved Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey film.
You’ll have the time of your life.
The Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, Virginia, is where Dirty Dancing was filmed, although it was called Kellerman Resort in the movie, and was supposedly located in New York’s Catskill Mountains.
The resort’s Dirty Dancing weekends will feature activities inspired by the film, like dancing lessons, a dance party, trivia and, yes, even a watermelon toss.
Visitors can even stay in the cabon where Baby’s family stayed in the film.
“Mountain Lake Lodge is Kellerman’s,” Heidi Stone, the hotel’s general manager, told ABC News.
“It is amazing how many thousands of Dirty Dancing fans we meet every summer. We have guests from all over the world that come to Mountain Lake Lodge just for the Dirty Dancing Weekends. It tends to be a popular ‘girls getaway’ weekend, but we do see some husbands and boyfriends from time to time.”
Packages start at US $330 per person for the weekend, based on double occupancy.
This year’s Dirty Dancing Weekend dates are scheduled for 29-31 July, 26-28 August, and 9-11 September. For more info and to book, click here.
