If you happen to be in Melbourne anytime soon, you’ll have a chance to buy tickets to the hottest show in the country for $40.
Just as they did when it ran on Broadway and London’s West End, the producers of The Book of Mormon are introducing a lottery system to the show’s Melbourne run.
Before each show, a small number of tickets will be made available to the winners of a lottery. To enter that lottery, you’ll need to arrive at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre two and a half hours before the show and put your name down, and whether you’d like one or two tickets.
The winners are then drawn out of a hat, and they get to buy tickets for just $40 apiece. Note well, though — you have to be there for the draw to claim your win; there’s a strict limit of one entry per person; and there’s zero guarantee your name will be drawn out, even if you show up early every night. Because it’s, you know, a lottery.
Yes, it’s all very similar to Hamilton’s #Ham4Ham lottery, but Book of Mormon did it first.
The show is on every day of the week except Monday (with two shows on Saturdays), and the lottery kicks off on Tuesday 7 February.
