If you’ve got a Cheryldine, Enivid or Izaak in the family, you might want to look away now.
For the third year in a row, KidSpot has released its list of the year’s best bogan baby names in Australia.
“I believe we all have a bit of bogan in us that we should embrace and celebrate,” writes bogan baby name expert Sabrina Rogers-Anderson.
Most of the names on this year’s list are ‘boganised’ versions of popular names — for instance, Izaak instead of Isaac, and Jathon instead of Jason — and mash-ups, like Cheryldine in place of Cheryl and Geraldine.
Enivid — ‘divine’ spelled backwards — is another favourite, while some bogan parents are opting to name their children Beautiful instead of the more subtle Belle or Bella.
And baby names simply don’t get more bogan than Blade, which appears for the first time on this year’s list.
