Celebrity chef Neil Perry will be in the kitchen when Rockpool Dining Group opens Brisbane’s second Burger Project this week.

Burger Project’s second Brisbane location will open on Edward Street, in the heart of the CBD, this Tuesday 20 June.

Neil Perry AM will be in the kitchen from 11am on launch day, manning the burners and putting hundreds of house-made burgers into the hands of eager customers.

This will be Rockpool Dining Group’s 12th Burger Project location in the country.

It’ll have a similar look and feel to the other stores, with a smart-casual interior designed by architect Grant Cheyne, eye-catching glass frontage and a large open kitchen, so you can see the burger masters at work.

Located a stone’s throw from the Stock Exchange Hotel, Burger Project Edward Street will accommodate 134 diners, including 64 in a stylish outdoor garden terrace overlooking Charlotte Street.

Perry says the new venue’s prime position on Edward Street will make it a convenient lunch destination for shoppers and office workers, and a favourite with crowds looking to start (or finish) a night out.

“Burger Project will be a drawcard for Brisbane corporates, foodies, families and the late night crowd, as it really caters for all ages and occasions, with a late night closing time Thursday through to Saturday,” he says.

“Our fast-paced production will suit office workers by day and bar-hoppers by night, with customers rewarded with premium grade ingredients and the option to linger over a few craft brews in our outdoor terrace.

“We’re thrilled to be expanding our footprint in Brisbane and to be creating another 16 jobs in this vibrant city and spirited community.”

The menu will feature 14 hand-crafted burgers showcasing 36-month, grass-fed Cape Grim beef from Tasmania, free-range Lilydale chicken, and even a vegetarian crumbed confit mushroom option.

You’ll be able to spice up your chips with either chipotle or Sichuan salt, and a range of ice cream desserts will be available, including house-churned soft-serve.

Classic shakes, sodas and iced teas will all be shaken, spritzed and brewed in-house, and Burger Project has also partnered with Urban Craft Brewing Co to offer an expanded range of draught and bottled beers, including rotating seasonal small batch brews on tap.

If you don’t have time to sit down, you’ll be able to grab your meal from the quick pick-up counter and go by ordering ahead with the Burger Project app.

Burger Project (Shop 1, 144 Edward Street, Brisbane) opens this Tuesday 20 June. It’ll be open from 11am to 9pm, Sunday to Wednesday, and 11am ’til late, Thursday to Saturday.
