Sydney’s Italian Street Kitchen will bring contemporary and classic Roman street food to Gasworks Plaza this month.

This will be the first Queensland venue for the brand, which is known for its open kitchen plan, allowing customers to see all aspects of food preparation and watch authentic Italian chefs at work.

The Italian dishes are simple and uncomplicated, and made fresh daily.

Italian Street Kitchen restaurateur Mauro Marcucci says he wants to give diners the sort of unique and affordable dining experience they might find while strolling the streets of Rome.

“We are excited to open in Brisbane’s newest premier retail and dining precinct amongst the line-up of other premium restaurants,” he says.

“The area is vibrant, young and fresh, which complements the Roman street cuisine and atmosphere of our brand.”

Must-haves on the menu include the Arancini made from roasted pumpkin, smoked provolone, parmesan, thyme and panko crumb; the Marinara Blanca made with fresh seafood and sauteed with olive oil, garlic, chilli and parsley sauce; the marinated lamb shoulder with sea salt, garlic and rosemary; and the Gustosa pizza topped with mozzarella, mushroom, Italian sausage, parmesan and truffle oil.

Italian Street Kitchen will open at Gasworks Plaza (Skyring Terrace, Newstead) on Monday 12 June.
