Brisbane’s first Betty’s Burgers will headline Westfield Chermside’s new dining precinct, set to open in June.
The precinct will centre around ‘The Urchin’, a light-filled dome that puts us in mind of the iconic ‘Spaceship Earth’ at Disney’s Epcot theme park.
The aluminium structure, designed by Armada and built by Fabritecture, takes its name from its distinctive shape, which resembles the round, jagged edges of a sea urchin.
Over 20 dining retailers are set to open in Chermside in the coming months, including Betty’s Burgers, Bin 931 by Daniel Ridgeway (of Little Truffle fame), and Bootlegger by Tom Chidiac (the man behind a slew of Sydney favourites, including Sourdough and The Naked Duck).
The other dining retailers set to take up residence in the new precinct include Tapworks Bar & Gril, Hermosa by Olé, The Bavarian, Motto Motto, 4Fingers Crispy Chicken, Landmark Yum Cha, Fiery Deli and Kamikaze Teppanyaki.
“We are delighted to open our first-class dining precinct to shoppers and welcome renowned restaurateurs to Chermside,” says Westfield centre manager Garth Haslam.
“This opening sets the benchmark for dining in Brisbane’s north — allowing the local community to enjoy a complete dining experience, and all under one roof.”
A number of fashion and lifestyle retailers will also open their doors at the centre in June, including Seed and Seafolly, as well as concept gym Total Fusion.
The new dining precinct will make Westfield Chermside the largest Westfield centre in Australia.
Westfield Chermside’s new dining precinct will open on Thursday 22 June.
