Stop what you’re doing and clear your calendars — Brisbane is getting its first festival devoted entirely to desserts.
The Sugar Market, Brisbane’s first dessert festival, will be held in the Alden Street laneway behind The Wickham in Fortitude Valley.
Details are scarce at this stage and the official stall line-up has yet to be announced, but we know meringue masters Lucid Sweets will be involved in running the festival, and event organisers are already warning Brisbanites they’ll need to wear their best pair of stretchy pants for this one.
They claim the laneway will be taken over by “more brownies, cupcakes, macarons, meringues and doughnuts than you ever thought could fit in one space, with a decadent line-up of stalls from Brisbane’s best dessert masters”.
The festival will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between, making it the cheat day of your dreams.
The Sugar Market dessert festival will be held on Saturday 29 October. We’ll post more information as it comes to hand, so make sure you subscribe to Bmag for updates!
