Jimmy Rod’s Shave Saloon Bar and Barbershop comes complete with a fully-stocked whiskey bar, mouth-watering menu and a suave 1920s-style interior.
Barber, meet bartender.
Tucked inside Brisbane’s 480 Queen Building, the new barbershop will serve as the flagship location for Jimmy Rod’s.
Jimmy Rod O’Brien, founder and owner of Jimmy Rod’s Barbershops, anticipates the venue will become a popular spot for people to grab a drink and a charcuterie board in the city, even if they don’t need a shave.
“The Shave Saloon offers clients a carefully selected range of whiskeys and cocktails, along with a range of quality meal options and share plates,” he says.
“Our bar offering will be available to everyone, regardless of whether they require an appointment.
“This concept is set to change the ‘cut and shave’ experience forever, combining highly-skilled barbering experience with a chance to relax, unwind and have a laugh with friends.”
Jimmy Rod’s already has locations in Newstead, Paddington, Oxley, Nundah and The Gap, as well as three locations (Broadway on the Mall, 300 Queen and Albert Street) in the CBD. But Jimmy Rod says the Shave Saloon Bar and Kitchen has been two years in the making.
“This notion is something I’ve been dreaming about for years, but I’ve had to be patient and not rush into anything as I knew location was everything,” he says.
That location is in the newly developed 480 Queen Street, a skyrise housing a mix of commercial offices and retail spaces. The Shave Saloon and Bar will be positioned alongside the likes of BHP Billiton, Grocon, Price Waterhouse Coopers, DLA Piper and First Class Fitness.
The venue won’t be officially launched until Thursday 23 June, but it’s already open now. For more info, visit jimmyrods.com.au.
