Fortitude Valley’s latest addition is aiming to become your second home.

Pumping music, bright lights, drinks, fun and laughter pretty much sums up a great night out in the Valley. The only negative thing about the famous entertainment precinct is having to wait all week for your next chance to party, as most venues only open on Friday or Saturday nights.

Don’t worry party people, all that’s about to change!

Located on Warner Street in the Valley is a new bar called Barbara and its open 7 nights a week until 3am!

Part hipster café, part mum’s kitchen, the skilfully designed yet welcoming space will make you want to stay all night.

Barbara is the brainchild of Michael and Matthew Thompson, Jaxon King, James Gunston and Mitch Reyes. You may know them from their previous pop-up restaurant, Calypso Boys.

To bring their treasured new bar together, the boys put countless hours into designing and building the perfect venue and menus for all food and music lovers to enjoy.

The boys overall goal for the bar was for patrons to feel comfortable no matter their age, tastes or interest in music – and with the tagline ‘She will take care of you’ the bar certainly lives up to its claim.

The five amigos recently teamed up with local brewer, Lee McAlister to create their very own signature beer. As part of the process, the poor souls had to endure taste testing over 30 different beers!

Craft beer favourites like Stone & Wood can be found on tap, but if that’s not your thing a range of carefully-curated wines can also be enjoyed.

The all-important drink menu does not just stop at beer and wine though, with a range of spirits and cocktails available as well.

Cocktail lovers can try out the Strawberry Kisses (vodka, elderflower liqueur, strawberries, lime, orange and mint) or the Loco with coconut tequila, fresh pineapple and coconut water (that makes it healthy right?)

It has to be five o’clock somewhere in the world, right? I know where I’m off to!

Barbara is located in 105/38 Warner Street, Fortitude Valley. For more information visit
